It's official – the happiest place on earth is Denmark, and it's not hard to understand why. Sure, they have a shedload of free public services like healthcare and education that help to bring a smile to those Danish faces, but that's not all.

This country is home to happy places such as the oldest theme park in the world, Northern Europe's largest aquarium and t, e world's first LEGOLAND. It's not all fun and games in Denmark, there are also plenty of beautiful sights to view from The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen harbour to the impressive Rosenborg Castle.

Switzerland

Is it any wonder that Switzerland lands at number two on the list of happiest countries as the home of chocolate? How they manage to have the lowest rates of obesity in Europe, we'll never understand.

If you're looking for something a little bit more than chocolate, you won't be disappointed. Switzerland offers some of the most spectacular vistas in the world, from the towering peak of the Matterhorn to the fairy-tale-like Château de Chillon on the waterfront of the dreamy Lake Geneva.
